Chapter 1[]
Haruyuki Arita receives mail from Araya during class. It states that Haru must bring food for him and bring it to him on top of the roof. After giving them the food, Haru becomes hungry, but is unable to buy anything to eat since he spent it all on Araya and his gang. So, he decides to use his Neuro Linker in order to connect onto the school's network. He connects on and runs into Kuroyukihime for the first time, admiring her avatar's beauty. Haru enters the squash game and is interrupted by his friend, Chiyuri Kurashima. Worrying for him, she logs herself out and Haru in order to give him sandwiches that she made. However, Haru thinks she is just pitying him and knocks it all down. He then proceeds to run away and reconnects back onto the school's network. After returning to the squash game, he is shocked that someone had beat his high score. He then once again meets Kuroyukihime who asks him if he would like to accelerate to the next level.
The following day, he comes to meet Kuroyukihime who had asked him to the previous day. He sits down with Kuroyukihime who then proceeds to do a Direct Wired Connection which shocks everybody in the room. Kuroyukihime sends Haru the Brain Burst program which would change his entire reality. The program successfully installs, but Haru is then interrupted by the sudden appearance of Araya.
Chapter 2[]
Haruyuki is interrupted by Araya, telling him that he didn't meet up to give him food for himself and his friends. Kuroyukihime then interrupts and baits Araya into hitting Haru, just as Haru is about to get hit, she tells him to say "Burst Link". With this, Kuroyukihime explains to Haru about the program known as Brain Burst and how it works. Kuroyukihime tells him that he needs to use this punch to his advantage, to stop him from being bullied by Ariya, and make his life easier. Telling him to "Burst Out", Haru gets hit and flies into Kuroyukihime, which causes Araya to get caught and arrested. Kuroyukihime then gives Haru a warning to not take off his Neuro Linker and not to connect to the Global Net until she sees him again the next day. Haru meets Chiyuri at the school gates and walks home with her, meeting Takumu along the way home. That night Haru has a bad dream, which has him wanting to escape from bullying and the pity of his friends.
The next day, Haru accidently connects to the Global Net so that his mother can give him lunch money. As he leaves his apartment building, he is challenged by another Burst Linker
Chapter 3[]
Haruyuki suddenly appears in the Accelerated World, not know how he got there, noticing himself in a reflection he sees his avatar, «Silver Crow». He has been challenged by Ash Roller, another Burst Linker, who then starts chasing him on his motorbike. Haruyuki loses and tells Kuroyukihime about his experience where she laughs at how fast he lost the duel. Kuroyukihime then explains to Haru that Burst Linkers fight so that they can Accelerate. Kuroyukihime then asks Haru to Accelerate with her, so that she can see his Duel Avatar. Haruyuki pledges himself to Kuroyukihime, telling her that he will fight for her, and in time, help her beat all her enemies. Kuroyukihime then teaches Haruyuki how to fight. After finishing teaching Haruyuki how to fight, Megumi asks Kuroyukihime about her relation with Haruyuki, which she replied saying she confessed, and he turned her down. After school, Kuroyukihime and Haruyuki head towards the school gate, with Kuroyukihime telling Haruyuki good luck as he goes to challenge Ash Roller.
